Their wood-oven pizzas have a crispy yet light crust and are made with homemade San Marzano tomato sauce and fresh buffalo mozzarella.

Besides the always perfect Margherita, there are two pizzas worth mentioning. Both the Salame with Sopressa or spicy Ventricina salami and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and the Tartufo with Coppa di Parma ham and truffle cream are mouthwatering good.  If you can, try to keep room for their Tiramisu. Loetje De Pijp: the best steak in town

Loetje is (and has been for years) a go to for the some of the best steak in town. This restaurant still has the looks of an old Amsterdam brown café, which gives Loetje de Pijp its charm.  Although they have enough tasty dishes like Chicken Saté and North Sea Sole on the menu, they are famous for their steaks.  Definitely try the Biefstuk Bali – a juicy steak in spicy gravy. A tradition amongst locals is to ask for some white bread to go with that to soak up the gravy. There is no shame in a completely wiped clean plate at Loetje.

Shared dining at Boca’s De Pijp

Boca’s is a spot you can both start and end your day at. It’s a locals favorite for a refuel in between shopping, a quick bite before heading out or a full night of dinner and cocktails with friends. During day and night Boca’s offers a selection of small dishes and mixed platters with loads of meat, fish and vegetarian options. All for sharing (or not).

During the day a few recommendations are the Queso Iberico with fig compote, Lamb merguez with tzatziki and the Prawn croquettes with lemon-wasabi mayonnaise. All served on small bread rolls from the oven. At night The Meat, Fish, Cheese and Vegetarian platters come in three sizes. Or ask for a combination if you want it all. Bites worth mentioning are the Dates with Blue Cheese and a mini Hamburger with Foie Gras. Oh, and don’t forget to order the Three types of Fries (with three types of mayonnaises) to go with that. It’s an absolute favorite. After dinner the ever so friendly staff will get the party starting by serving some great cocktails and turning up the music. Dancing is allowed and encouraged!

At Barça you can enjoy a little bite of Spain right in the middle of Amsterdam.
